This is a pair of English antique hallmarked sterling silver sugar tongs or sugar nips during the Regency period dating to 1822.
The sugar tongs or sugar servers measure 6 inches long and are hallmarked for London, England in 1822 which means before Queen Victoria came to the throne.
The maker 's mark is H I or I H, which I have been unable to identify.
The sugar tongs have the a hand engraved gothic script monogram initial F H on the bow.
The sugar tongs have spoon ends and a Georgian design.
They are in excellent used vintage condition from an historic period. Beau Brummel or Jane Austen would have loved them.
The sugar tongs weigh 51.6 grams of sterling silver.
