This is a fabulous antique 9 inch in diameter late Victorian Delft or delfts blue and white plate or plaque made to hang on the wall manufactured in Holland 1880-1900s and brought to the USA from England around 1904.
The plate features a windmill and a canal scene with people and cows and is in very good ++ used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or wear but a tiny dot where the blue was missed under the glaze.
This is a much older version than the Delft tourist wares that have been for sale in the Netherlands for the last 60 years.
I wouldn't trust the original string hanger. I suggest replacing it for safety.
It is beautiful, and makes a wonderful addition to a blue and white country kitchen.
